Ben is an independent choreographer and director working in contemporary dance, opera and theatre.
Ben trained at The Ballet Rambert School and worked primarily as a performer between 1991 - 2006. He is presently the Associate Artistic Director of Skances Dansteater Sweden and has recently created two large scale productions for the company in collaboration with Malmo Opera: To see the world while the light lasts and The Feeling of Going. Ben also directs his own project company in the UK bgroup and will be touring his latest work The Keepers throughout the UK in 2017/18. Other recent choreography includes: Don Giovanni (The Metropolitan Opera); Insatiable Inflatable Candylion (National Theatre Wales); Fiancailles au Couvent (Theatre du Capitole, Toulouse); La Boheme (Washington National Opera); My Night with Reg, Twelfth Night (Donmar Warehouse/West End); A Midsummer Night's Dream, Privates on Parade (Michael Grandage Company); The Perfect American (English National Opera/Teatro Real Madrid/Brisbane Festival); The Marriage of Figaro, Knight Crew (Glyndebourne Opera); Tobias and the Angel, In the Red and Brown Water (Young Vic Theatre) amongst others.
Directing credits include: The Walk from the Garden (Salisbury International Festival); An Audience with Adrienne; A Night at the Opera (Bayerische Staatsoper Festival).
Future creative work includes Spectrum (Skanes Dansteater-Choreographer/Director).
